Anderson puts wickets before goals
James Anderson is focusing on tumbling wickets rather than taking records this summer.Sir Ian Botham, England's leading wicket-taker with 383 scalps, has backed Anderson to go far beyond his own mark after the 30-year-old Lancastrian became just the fourth Englishman to reach a triple century of Test victims."It was a very proud moment for me when I got there. It's a huge achievement, something I'm delighted with," said Anderson."I'm privileged to be only the fourth Englishman to take 300 wickets and to be mentioned with names like Botham, [Bob] Willis, [Fred] Trueman is still a bit surreal."As for taking 100 more wickets than him [Botham], that's a huge amount of wickets and a lot of cricket to be played before I can get anywhere near that."I'll just try to concentrate on staying fit and not look too far ahead. I don't really like setting myself goals, either."I try to look at what's going on right now and concentrating on taking wickets for England, contributing towards a successful team and winning games of cricket."Hopefully the milestones and the wickets and everything will take care of themselves.
