Blatter has expressed his sadness at the death of former South Africa international Keryn Jordan, aged just 37. In a letter to Dr Danny Jordaan, President of the South African Football Association – which was also sent to former club Auckland City and NZ Football – Blatter paid tribute to a player who earned great esteem throughout the game. Jordan passed away on Monday after a 12-year battle with cancer, during which time he nonetheless achieved some notable feats, most memorably in New Zealand, where he became the Kiwi top flight’s all-time leading scorer.
