Council on posters
Herald Reporter The city of Harare has started removing campaign posters used for the 2013 harmonised elections as part of efforts to keep the capital clean. In an interview on Tuesday council spokesperson, Mr Leslie Gwindi said the council would remove the campaign posters.“Council is responsible for the pulling down of these posters and we will gradually remove them,” Mr Gwindi said. He said the council has to wash down some of the campaign material plastered on walls of buildings, and remove those on trees and street lights.
At the just ended United Nations World Tourism Organisation General Assembly that was held in Victoria Falls, Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Walter Mzembi ordered the removal of all campaigning material. The minister said the election posters of candidates from Zanu-PF, the two MDC formations and independent candidates were now an eyesore in the resort town....
