Arts Correspondent Contemporary musician Jah Prayzah is expected to illuminate Glen Norah tomorrow night when he stages his debut show at the newly opened Club Joy Centre in the area. He becomes the second high-profile musician to play at the joint after Progress Chipfumo, who officially opened the club some few weeks ago. The young crooner has steadily grown his brand so much that when his fans attend his live shows, they will not just be there for the music, but also to watch and marvel at his “military drills” that are often led by comedian Lloyd Kurima known as Mabla 10, in the entertainment circles.
“ plays some of his popular songs that include the hit track ”
Fans should expect nothing short of fireworks as “Musoja” plays some of his popular songs that include the hit track “Tsviriyo”, “Machembere”, “Siririya”, “Sungano” and “Rufaro”. But probably the highlight of the show is when he will play the song “Dande”, in commemoration of the late mbira singer Chiwoniso Maraire who did the vocals on the sing-along song.
The beauty is about Jah Prayzah’s live performances is that he keeps his songs and performance tight and can quickly move on to the next song once he notices that the crowd is no longer responding positively. One thing you cannot take away from him is that he is a talented young man, who has already made his mark on the local scene, and has got the potential to do even better on the international market.
